If you think that summer in LA is almost over, think again. Summer in LA has just started and here are some big events to prove it.
LA Car Night
- When: August 29, 2015
- Where: Irwindale Event Center 500 Speedway Drive, Irwindale
Another car show that you mustn’t miss is this year’s LA Car Night which will include The NASCAR Whelen All American Series racers, Universal Studios Hollywood Bandoleros, Seidner’s Collision Centers Late Models, Legend Cars, and Pick Your Part South West Tour Trucks.
“The tradition is for fans to come back to the pits after the race to congratulate and/or commiserate with them. It actually helps traffic out flow with only about half of the fans scurrying to their cars to go home and the other half heading for the pit area to rub shoulders with the racers and crews—very different from the super speedway experience,” according to Doug Stokes, former Executive Director of the International Kart Federation. Eat | See | Hear
- When: August 15, 2015 – September 12, 2015
- Where: 100 N Garfield Ave
Eat|See|Hear, as you can guess from its name, combines food with movies and music. I honestly don’t know what else can beat this perfect combination. Known as ‘LA’s original traveling outdoor movie series,’ Eat|See|Hear, winner of Best Outdoor Movie Event in Los Angeles in 2014, is going to take place in different places all over Los Angeles, providing participants with great live music, a variety of movies and amazing food from food trucks such as Coolhaus, The Grilled Cheese Truck, Tokyo Doggie Style, and many others. Haunted Summer, Milo Bloom and Mansions on the Moon, The Orwells, Islands, Chicano Batman, Saint Motel and Nightmare & The Cat are some of the bands that will perform live.
2015 Twilight Concerts
- When: July 9, 2015 – September 10, 2015
- Where: Santa Monica Pier, Downtown Santa Monica
The 31st annual Twilight concerts which have started since July 9th will go on until September 10th. You just need to check out their schedule here http://santamonicapier.org/twilightconcerts/ and decide which events you want to join. The great news is that all the concerts, which take place every Thursday from 7-10 p.m., are totally free and feature live music as well as Santa Monica Pier’s breathtaking views.
Rose Bowl Flea Market
- When: September 13, 2015 – December 13, 2015
- Where: 1001 Rose Bowl Dr
If you ever get overwhelmed by concerts, car shows, and movie events happening all over LA, here is a special event for a change. In case you like wandering around flee markets, look for old vintage accessories, clothes, furniture and what not, Rose Bowl Flea Market is the place for you. Besides being one of the most famous popular markets around the world, Rose Bowl Flea Market is also known as “the world’s most unusual flea market… featuring over 2,500 vendors and 20,000 buyers every month,” according to Rose Bowl Flea Market’s official site http://rgcshows.com/rosebowl.aspx
Luckily the event is going to last until December 13, 2015, so even if you don’t have much luck the first time you go there, you will have plenty of time to attend the event again until the end of this year.
If you are currently residing in LA, moving there soon, or plan to spend some time there in the coming weeks, you will for sure have plenty of events to pick from. We hope our short list included some of the events you enjoy attending; if not, feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment section below. Also, if you have already attended in the past years any of the events we mentioned, please tell us about your personal experience. Thank you!
